Orphans and Street Urchins in India

They are in India, in the State of Andra Pradesh,  Children live on the streets,  often without any kind of parental care,  with no relatives to care for them. If they want to survive, they must beg. They have no safe place to sleep, they have absolutely no-one to help when they are ill; no medicine; no-one to nurse them back to health. They are continually in danger of being abused and extorted.

Ein Zuhause –

das ist etwas, das viele indische Kinder allenfalls vom Hörensagen kennen.

‘HOME’ is something that many Indian children have perhaps heard of, but never experienced.

These children need help,  and our fellow-worker John Wesley Kommu  has set himself the task of helping them.  About ten years ago he and his wife started a Care Centre.  Today roughly thirty girls and boys find shelter, food, and clothing there.

They get three nutritious meals a day, there are toy and – most importantly – they receive medical care. The Day Care Centre provides the school uniforms required by the Indian State so that the children are able to attend the local schools. God the Father’s Love and His care gives them a sense of being wanted and accepted.

Togetherness is vitally important for the healthy development of the children, and great care is taken to create an atmosphere of familiarity and in choosing the surroundings. The children are given the loving attention they need to develop a feeling of self-worth.

“We have taken these children into our home to give them back their lost childhood.
They accept us as their parents, who give them the security of a real home, and they trust us.”
